A bit of a change from yesterday! Woke up to a light sprinkle of snow which gradually got heavier. With the mountains shrouded in cloud, a thick coat of fresh snow on the pine trees, and a brief power blackout, the icy footpaths were our first obstacle.
The SS Earnshaw, a coal powered steamer, was our transport for the day trip to Walter Peak Station. The lakeside homestead came into view and we disembarked for a shearing demonstration and tour of the homestead. The snow had stopped and light rain set in as the temperature dropped.
With a fresh cover of snow, we have our ski gear all ready for skiing tomorrow.
Queenstown travel tip: The Cow has great pizza and spaghetti in an atmospheric den.
